An advancing cold front has brought another push of colder air into the region and our Wednesday will not be all that comfortable. Highs are only anticipated to climb into the upper 30s and lower 40s and with winds gusting over 20 mph from the northeast it will feel even colder. Tonight though that front lifts back north as a warm front and will allow a surge of warm air to move in tomorrow. Strong south winds, which could gust over 40 mph in the southeast part of the state, will push our highs into the 60s and 70s even though we will start off with a decent amount of clouds. By late in the day our next storm system will be approaching and we will be watching for a risk of isolated thunderstorms in north and northeast parts of the state in the vicinity of previously mentioned warm front. We will have a slim risk of an isolated severe storm with large hail the primary threat. As this storm moves further northeast, colder air will move in behind it brought in by NW winds gusting over 50 mph. This change will be even more dramatic as northern Nebraska will have the potential for another round of snowfall and some areas could be looking at 4-7 inches of snow especially as you head north towards the South Dakota border. The bigger concern will be the snow wind combination as I am worried that 50 mph wind gusts combining with even moderate snow will lead to very difficult travel conditions. Thankfully this system will move out quickly giving us a wonderful weekend with highs well into the 50s on Saturday and by Sunday many of us will be into the 60s and 70s. We will then turn our attention to next week where we have the potential for a strong storm system to impact the region late Tuesday into Wednesday. While still a long ways out, this one does bear watching and we will update everyone as we get closer.{\\/strong}
